Samsung releases the March security patch in its second Galaxy S24 update
Samsung released a second software update for the Galaxy S24, offering a security patch in March 2024. After a delay in rolling out the first update, this latest release addresses security problem solving quickly. While the firmware doesn’t have major changes, users can expect minor bug fixes alongside a security patch.
Galaxy S24 users in Canada and select European territories like Germany and Italy have reported receiving the AXBG build update. The update is quite large roughly 428 MB which suggests that security enhancements rather than feature enhancements are its primary focus.
Despite the update, persistent issues such as grainy display issues on the Galaxy S24 Ultra remain unresolved, possibly due to hardware limitations. Samsung’s commitment to updating security in time is evident, as the release came on March 1, surpassing Google’s plans.
Looking ahead, Samsung plans to launch the One UI 6.1 with Galaxy AI on other models like the Galaxy S23 and Z Fold 5 later in March. With this version, you can expect to see features like Note Assistant, AI-generated wallpapers, Circle to Search, and photo generative edits.
Galaxy S24 users can check for the availability of AXBG firmware by going to Settings, Software update, and then Download and install While carrier-locked units may face delays, the unlocked variants are expected to receive the update in the coming days.
