OnePlus affirms that all models of the 12R run UFS 3.1
Following some initial uncertainty at its debut, OnePlus has clarified the storage specifications of its most recent smartphone, the OnePlus 12R. At first, OnePlus had said on the website and in announcements that the 256GB version of the OnePlus 12R will use UFS 4.0 storage.
But OnePlus has now formally confirmed that UFS 3.1 storage would be used by both the 128GB and 256GB variants of the OnePlus 12R, in response to a discussion on sites like X and Reddit.
The company apologized for any misunderstanding caused and quickly fixed the error, updating its website to reflect the correct information. With features like the Trinity Engine, which improves memory and storage, OnePlus promises users that the OnePlus’ 12R will still offer great performance even with the storage parameters changed.
Originally announced to be compatible with UFS 4.0 storage, the Trinity Engine is a suite of software algorithms intended to gradually optimize the phone’s memory and storage performance. Though UFS 3.1 storage is confirmed for all models, OnePlus stresses that the device will still provide an amazing user experience. It is claimed that the Trinity Engine makes it possible for apps to launch more quickly and stay responsive for extended periods of time.
OnePlus further emphasizes that the OnePlus 12R has been subjected to extensive testing and certification by TUV SUD, guaranteeing that it continues to function smoothly and efficiently over an extended duration, even with UFS 3.1 storage.
